About Miyotl
The Miyotl App was developed in a project by students of the Chapingo Autonomous University in a work to preserve indigenous languages. It is designed for people with little knowledge of informational apps. Its primary function is to help conserve indigenous languages in Mexico. It is the first app in the world that has more than 14 indigenous Mexican languages. It has access to more than 10 thousand words and a little more than 100 texts, offering a variety of ways to learn about the culture of a given language. In each language, the user can observe the category, author, source, region, and labels for the texts. In the dictionary category, the user can see the words in the Indigenous language and Spanish. However, considering that there aren’t audio examples of these words, there are limits to learning the pronunciation. The audio feature is currently under development.
