About Kumoontun
Kumoontun is an app that seeks to teach the Ayöök-Mixe language spoken in the northeastern region of Oaxaca. This app was presented at the International Conference Language Technologies for All (LT4All) meeting in the framework of the International Year of Indigenous Languages 2019. This event took place at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France. One of the main coordinators of the app is Marco Antonio Martínez.
This application aims to teach the language by listening and reading words in Ayöök grouped in different semantic fields; in addition to being able to visualize the vocabulary, listening to bilingual Ayöök/Spanish stories and studying the linguistic tree. As for the design of the application, it is very easy to use. Unfortunately, the audio does not work, which somehow prevents using the app to its full potential.
